While not a gay destination by any stretch, it seems that the island is welcoming and gay friendly. Is there anything in particular that a gay couple should be aware of before visiting Menorca? Places to see or specifically to avoid? Particular beaches or areas not to miss? We're not looking for parties or wild nightlife which is why we're looking at Menorca rather than Ibiza but if there's anything we should know of ahead of time we'd love the advice. Hi AndyL, cannot say I have a lot of input to offer on this other than I would say I have noted an increase in Gay Couples in last couple of years therefore Menorca is getting known-not great wording I know , but well intended.
Mallorca is the largest Balearic island and some sort of straight counterpart to Ibiza. Like Cannes or Monaco , it is a haven for the Spanish and European jet-setters, who spend the summer on yachts or in country houses nestled in the hinterland. A part of the coast is crowded and literally submerged by tsunamis of tourists in July and August. It is particularly popular with the British and Germans. Beyond its beaches, Mallorca is one of the most beautiful islands in the Mediterranean, and Palma worth a visit.
